Any problem that you have in your business can be cured by sales.

If you have a problem in a business, it’s usually a direct manifestation of money.

Maybe you say, “Well, I don’t know about that, I’m trying to plan out my product launch.” If you had enough money you could hire an expert to plan out your product launch because you’re not an expert at product launches. If you had enough money you could hire people to help you and you wouldn’t need to worry about your product launch.

And how do you get enough money? Through making sales. 

Why You Need To Focus On Sales

Alot of consultants and coaches spend too much time on things like branding. Especially in the beginning phases of their business.

You say, “My branding is not on point.”

The reality is that branding is over-romanticized. Heck, you wouldn’t accept some of the branding of the world’s top, most prestigious companies. Look at Coca Cola. Coca Cola is just red and white with some font. They don’t have the prettiest branding. 

Let’s say that you need some branding and you want to kick it up a notch. Well, sales cures that too because then you can hire someone to do that FOR you!  Someone that really knows what they’re doing.

If you had your money right and your sales flowing, you’d be able to pay someone to do your branding for you.

Do you know what you can’t get back? Time.

You can always get more money. 

So why is it so important to focus on getting good at sales? 

  1. You will always be able to extract money out of the marketplace no matter what happens. Consequently, you’ll be confident  in every high or low of the economy. You won’t live at the mercy of a pay-check and therefore you will be able to lead your own life and financial situation. Let’s pretend for instance that you’re getting laid off from your job. If you had the skills to go out and sell something of value, you’d be okay.  Therefore mastering sales could be a life-saver to you and your family. 
  2. The second reason you need to get good at sales is because 90% of problems can be made better or solved if you have the money to do so. Money doesn’t buy happiness but neither does poverty. There is no limit to the amount of money you can make if you become great at sales.

Sales Cures All

Think about it: You wouldn’t be as afraid about the economy if you had an ability to get money. You wouldn’t be scared or nervous in relation to your business and finances if you mastered sales.  As a result, you’d be able to get money on command.

Bill Gates said, “If you’re born poor it’s not your fault. If you die poor, shame on you.”

Because we live in a world where you can go and sell stuff to people. There’s so much money on the planet. It’s been said that if all the money was distributed, every single person would get a billion dollars. There is so much money. But people don’t know how to get it. Be somebody who does know. So that when others need help, you know how to help them. 

Never Rely On A Trend 

In recent years, a lot of consultants and business owners have relied upon Facebook ads to drive business. However, this is a shaky platform to be relying upon. Trends are constantly changing and therefore it is never a good idea to put all of your eggs in one basket. 

Don’t rely on just one method of lead generation. What if social media crashes? What if your entire business that was built on Facebook and it goes under? It could very well happen. 

You can’t rely upon one mode of getting people. It’s so dangerous.

But when you’ve mastered sales, you can be recession – proof because you can always go out and turn a buck, selling your product or service at high or low margins.

It doesn’t matter what it is. As long as you can believe in it, you can sell it.

I don’t need a phone. A phone is great but I don’t need it to make sales.  I don’t NEED the internet, either.

Can you say that?

Can you make thousands or millions of dollars without the internet? No. Most people can’t confidently say that they can. But do you know who can say that? Mark Cuban. He’s a billionaire and he loves to use the phrase,  “Sales Cures All”.

Don’t believe me. You don’t have to believe me but you’re welcome to believe one of the wealthiest men on the planet. 

Believe a billionaire, a guy who owns a basketball team. He says that the most important thing for entrepreneurs to understand is that, “Sales Cures All”.

Sales is not a department, it’s not something you have to overcome or something you need to get used to. Sales IS business.

If you don’t master sales, you’re going to be mastered by your circumstances and by whatever pops up in your life. 

Get sold on selling. Because the better you become at sales, the more people you can help. Imagine the amount of charities you could support or even start if you had your money right. 

Today, make a commitment to obsess with becoming great at sales. Do it for yourself and for the ones you love.
